Permission to adapt your dish
What this is. When you send us your dish, you give us permission to turn it into a more plant-forward recipe and share it. Here’s what that means, without the fine print.
1.What you give us permission to do
You give us a non-exclusive permission (meaning your recipe stays yours and you can keep using it however you like) to: adapt your dish into a more plant-forward version; test and refine it in our kitchen; publish our version of the recipe on the site, the newsletter, and social media; and edit for clarity and length. The adapted recipe we create is our own work; your original recipe and story stay yours. You’re OK with us editing and adapting your dish, and you won’t claim a right to control how the adapted version turns out.
2.Your credit — only if you gave us your name
By default we do not publish your name. We can credit you only if you chose to give your name with your submission — the name field is optional, and leaving it blank means we publish without credit. Giving us your name is how you opt in to a credit. There is never any payment, and we are never obligated to publish your dish.
Before we publish your name or your story we want to confirm it with you — but today the platform sends no email and we have nowhere to store how you’d like to appear. That confirmation is a future capability (in development). Until that step exists, we publish the adapted recipe without your name or story. You can ask us to remove your credit at any time (§7).
3.What happens to your story
The story you write is yours. With your permission, we might quote a short excerpt or paraphrase it alongside the published recipe — but only after confirming with you, and that confirmation step does not exist yet (§2). Until then, we do not publish your story. We keep the story in the kitchen-and-family lane; we do not publish health claims drawn from your story (Platos Verdes is educational cooking content, not medical advice). If in the future we publish a credited story, that publication will carry the applicable testimonial/experience notice (“results vary”).
4.What you keep
This is a permission, not a hand-over: your recipe and your story stay yours and you can share them anywhere. We’re not obligated to publish your dish, and we’ll let you know kindly if it doesn’t make the round.
5.That it’s really yours
By submitting, you confirm it’s your own or your family’s recipe and your own story, and that you’re not copying someone else’s copyrighted text (for example, from a book or another site). Ingredients themselves aren’t copyrightable; the words you write are — which is why we ask that they be yours. You’re responsible for what you submit: if a third party claims your submission uses their copyrighted text, recipe, or trademark without permission, that responsibility is yours, not ours.
6.No payment
There’s no money or other compensation for submitting your dish or for publishing it. In exchange, you get the chance to have your recipe be part of the project and reach the community; we both acknowledge that exchange is the consideration for this permission. We do this to share transition recipes with the community.
7.How to remove your credit or your story
Write to us anytime at info@platosverdes.com to ask us to remove your name or your story.
- From our private submission queue. If you gave us an email, our privacy tools can delete your submission entirely. If you submitted without an email, write to us with the dish name and the story so we can locate it as best we can.
- From an already-published recipe. Once your name or story appears inside a published recipe, it lives in our published content, which our automated privacy tools do not reach. We remove it by hand: write to us and we will take your name or story off the published page within 30 days. This is separate from your privacy rights — see the privacy notice.
The permission you gave us to publish our adapted version of the recipe continues even if we remove your name or your story.
8.Privacy
We store the dish name, your story, and — if you gave them — your name and email, in a private queue only our team sees; nothing you submit is published automatically. We use your email only to contact you about your submission. We keep submissions for 24 months (730 days), and you can ask for access or deletion. More detail in the privacy notice.
9.Age
By submitting, you confirm you are 18 or older. The form doesn’t ask for your age today; adding the field and attestation is a pending engineering change.
10.Not medical advice
Platos Verdes is educational cooking content and is not a substitute for medical advice. Please don’t describe your dish’s ingredients as a treatment or cure for any condition.
11.Who we are / contact and rules
Platos Verdes is operated by SRQ Interactive. For any request about your submission: info@platosverdes.com.
